then one was two

Creating a new figure takes time, not to mention patience.  Parts of it are right and are exactly on track but other parts need refining and more work and thinking.  When working on new stuff I avoid the Internet like the plague- I hate being influenced by other peoples work so instead of surfing I merely look through old sketchbooks, and look at the figures that I have been working on for years.  Thats where the clues are.

Number 2 rolled off the workroom table today - still not exactly what I would like but tomorrow is another day and the number 3 model is already cut out ready for work tomorrow.

Now its time for a new figure

This little figure is now in the development stages - and I am loving it.   She is made from ramie linen which is beautifully soft and wonderful to work with.  The embroidery on her face and clothes is silk threads , which although are expensive to buy are the most glorious to work with.

More embroidery needed on her dress and jacket - so will be back with the finished article.
