summer sketchbook
the summer sketchbook for Opus is coming along ........ I have been working on the ideas of layering - mainy these have been taken from ideas after reading the book Perfume ............peeling back layers and building up layers ............
but still my faces and figures creep in !
do I work with them or try to ignore them?? abandom them or simply submit?
angels or demons ...........................?

Your summer sketchbook is looking lovely Sara. It is interesting that we both seem to be thinking about layers after reading Perfume but have very different approaches. That's what I love when I teach a class - you put out an idea and everyone runs with it in different directions.
I like the faces by the way... think they should stay!
Go with it Sara. Listen to your Muse! They are lovely and that bottom one of those peeping faces. What are they all so interested in? They look like the people on Conwy Quay today watching a lifeboat rescue demo.
This is the first time I have visited your blog ... great sruff. I was also pleased to see some pics of Julia and Alex Caprara (I did City & Guild Embroidery stage 1 by Correspondence from my home here in Perth, Western Australia 5 years ago ...brought back good memories and made me smile! :-D
